My commitment to you is unwavering. I will listen to your concerns, understand your needs, and fight tirelessly for your rights. Together, we will advance policies in Portland that promote equality, dismantle prejudice, and create a more inclusive society for all.
Here’s what I promise to do:
Address Portland Community-Specific Needs: I will work closely with community leaders and organizations to understand and address the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals, communities of color, and all marginalized groups. Your concerns will not be overlooked or dismissed.
Advance Inclusion: I will push for inclusive policies in Portland and in every aspect of governance, from education and healthcare to employment and housing. No one should ever feel marginalized or excluded because of who they are or who they love.
Champion Advocacy: I will be a vocal advocate for your rights, both within our local government and on a broader stage. I will amplify your voices, stand with you in solidarity, and fight alongside you for justice and equality.

Challenges Facing Artists and Musicians: Our artists and musicians are the heart and soul of Portland, yet they often face daunting challenges that hinder their ability to thrive. Skyrocketing living costs, lack of affordable workspace, and limited access to resources are just a few of the obstacles they confront daily, leaving many in dire straits.
A Comprehensive Approach to Support: It’s time for change. My campaign is built upon a comprehensive approach to support our artists and musicians, addressing their most pressing needs while fostering an environment where creativity can flourish. Here’s how we’ll do it:
Affordable Workspaces: I will work tirelessly to expand and create dedicated workspaces tailored to the needs of artists and musicians. By partnering with local developers and community organizations, we’ll ensure that creatives have access to safe, affordable spaces and studios where they can succeed.
Access to Funding and Resources: I believe that every artist and musician deserves access to the resources they need to succeed. That’s why I’ll establish grant programs, scholarships, and low-interest loans to provide financial support to our creative community. Additionally, I’ll advocate and work hard to streamline the permitting process for events and performances, making it easier for artists to share their work with the world.
Cultural Preservation and Promotion: Portland’s cultural heritage is a source of pride for all of us. I will prioritize the preservation and promotion of our city’s rich artistic traditions, supporting initiatives that celebrate diversity, amplify marginalized voices and artists of color. From public art installations to community festivals, we’ll ensure that Portland remains a beacon of creativity for generations to come.
Collaboration and Advocacy: True progress requires collaboration and advocacy. I will work closely with local arts organizations, grassroots activists, and government agencies to develop holistic solutions that address the root causes of systemic inequities in our creative sector. Together, we’ll build a more inclusive and resilient arts community that reflects the diversity of our city.
Supporting young artist and musicians: In my campaign, I champion the vibrant creativity and potential of our young artists and musicians, recognizing them as the heartbeat of our cultural future. I pledge unwavering support and advocacy for exemplary organizations working directly with young people like the Metropolitan Youth Symphony (MYS) and others, fostering platforms where talent can flourish regardless of background. It’s not just about nurturing talent; it’s about ensuring equity and access, particularly for young people and children from families of color, empowering them to thrive in their artistic journeys. By investing in the right resources and opportunities, we’re not only cultivating individual talents but also enriching our communities with diverse voices and perspectives, creating a brighter and more inclusive tomorrow for all.
